Why you should consider High Efficiency (HE) body and nozzles for landscaping
Article by Home Improvement Website.
Many of us still use conventional spray sprinklers to water our yards. The traditional spray sprinklers use “fan” spray heads. They send out more water than your landscaping could absorb. They also result in missing some areas where you unknowingly create dead spots. If you are still using conventional spray heads you are wasting water by overwatering your yard and excess water will run down the gutter. If you run your sprinkler system for ten minutes a day, you could be wasting more than 65 gallons of water compared to high efficiency nozzles.
HE sprinklers apply water evenly and slowly allowing more water absorption and reducing run-off in your garden. Even if you double your sprinkler time from ten minutes with the conventional sprayers to 20 minutes with the HE sprinklers, you will still save 30 gallons of water.
Consider changing both HE sprinklers and body along with other pressure regulators. Your cost to improve your sprinkler system could be paid off in just two to four years giving you more savings over the remaining life time. Many local water supply agencies carry rebates for changing your conventional spray heads to HE sprinklers. Check with your water service provider.
