Parts of the Home that Give the Most Resale Value
If you’re thinking about buying a home to sell later in life, you’ll want to know exactly where your investments will have the largest payoff for you. There are a lot of ways you can customize a home, including making rooms bigger and adding rooms too. Still, you’re historically going to find the highest return on your investment if you decide to build improvements in these three rooms.
Kitchen
The biggest improvements in the kitchen are typically found around the sink, the appliances, and the flooring itself. Faux travertine flooring looks great in a typical white-walled kitchen, but you can try out tile as well. With granite counter tops, and a backsplash behind your sink, you can update the look of your home without spending too much money on it. REfacing cabinets, and adding new knobs, is another affordable project that completely changes the look of the home. Fortunately, these are projects you can mostly do yourself, saving you quite a bit of money in the long term.
Bathroom
In the bathroom, you stand to gain quite a bit from updated fixtures that save water and provide soothing streams. A new bathtub, for instance, would add more luxury to the room. You could also replace your faucets, which will cost less than $1,000 even for fancy fixtures. Don’t forget to reface cabinets as you did in the kitchen.
Master
In the master, your improvements should be aimed at modernizing the space. Hardwood floors are a good option, as well as improvements that add space to the room. If you have an attached bathroom, you can follow some of the same tips you followed in your other bathrooms.
